That's right, but the feature is called "automatic
interior bypass". Napco has another "auto-
bypass" feature, too. You can program any
zones to auto-bypass upon arming if the zone
is not "ready" (i.e., a window is open).

I've had clients who like to leave windows open
during the evening while they're at home. They
only close them at night or when they're going
to be out of the house. Using Auto-Bypass on
specific zones, the system will shunt the open
window. Later, before going to bed for the night,
the client closes the window and the system
"unbypasses" the zone.

Another use for this is on a garage door. When
leaving for work one opens the door and then
arms the alarm before getting into the car. This
eliminates false alarms on exit caused when
someone takes too long to get the door down.
After backing out, the user closes the garage
door with his remote. As soon as the door
closes it is protected.

The down side to this is you have to be certain
that anything programmed for "Auto Bypass /
Auto Re-arm" actually gets closed. You don't
want to leave the windows open and unprotected
while you go on vacation. Napco's keypads do
emit a tone and display a warning that the
system is partially armed when using this feature
so it's not a blind operation.

You can also program the Napco system to
trigger a relay and/or the siren if a zone is left
open beyond a certain time. Furthermore, you
can program the system to automatically close
the garage door if it's left open too long or at a
specific time of day. It requires one of their
programmable relay boards to do this but it's
easy enough that DIYers have done it quite a
few times.
