Hey Dave,

If you haven't already solved your problem, I think you should check
out www.x10securitysystems.com. A complete wireless security system, at
an affordable price. It can be upgraded, and is highly customizable.
You won't have to worry about the wiring, it works with your existing
wires. The siren is very loud, and the system controls lighting as
well. The base system comes with two remotes, a standard remote, and a
keychain remote, both control arm/disarm-control panic feature- and
lighting controls.

I think this might be along the lines of what you are looking for. If
not maybe it will give you more ideas for a solution.
