This site discusses canonicity as perceived by various faiths -- Christian,
Jewish, etc. It's a secular collection of information on all kinds of
subjects.

This one is similarly objective (not faith-based) discussion.

Here's an article that describes the issue from the Catholic viewpoint. Not
being Catholic, I have no idea whether his writing really coincides with
"official" Catholicism.

This site makes no pretense of objectivity. It's a "statement of faith"
based upon the author's reading of Scripture. It happens to coincide fairly
closely with my own personal beliefs for whatever that's worth. :^)

There are lots more. Here's one that discusses Catholic vs. Protestant
viewpoints.

Obviously there are divergent views among Christians as to what is and what
is not Biblical canon just as there are different opinions about numerous
issues of faith. There is an author named CS Lewis whose writing I enjoy.
He is most famous for a series of allegorical books called the "Narnia
Tales." He's kind of the Billy Graham of the Mensa set. Lewis wrote a book
called "Mere Christianity" which explains the commonality of Christian
faith. With so many writers trying to prove the truth of *their own*
position over the error of others, Lewis' statement of faith is really
refreshing... and convincing. If you have opportunity, pick up a copy at
your local library. I'm sure you'll enjoy it -- Lewis had a great sense of
humor -- and you might even come away with a different point of view.
Another author whose books on Christian faith I have enjoyed is Philip
Yancey. His book, "Where is God When It Hurts?" is excellent. Here's a
collection of brief articles by Yancey in "Christianity Today" that you
might find interesting.

Hope you enjoy some of this stuff.
BTW, I mainly post to news:alt.security.alarms. This thread was x-posted
all over the place and is probably annoying folks in some newsgroups. If
you want to discuss it further, perhaps we could drop the rest of the
forums. I've x-posted this article since I'm not sure where you hang out.
