Interesting point, how can the motion be tested?

If you have programmed the zones for EOL resistors then make sure you are
using the correct value EOLs.
If you have programmed the zones for NC then make sure you aren't using EOL
resisotrs.
Make sure all zones show normal on the keypad.
Turn the alarm on
Open and close an entry/exit door.
Wait for the exit delay to expire and then walk past the motion sensor
Listen for the siren/bell or whatever audible device you have connected.
