If you're contemplating the AAH/TrixBox route, you may want to see what
Lehane does to get things working. Of course, it "just works" if
you
use native * compiles.

axc understands the Messenger.Event/Cmd schemas; these are used to
implement the command and response mechanisms. While it would be
possible to incorporate other schemas, my preference would be to rely on
this. Perhaps the author of your HomeSeer xAP gateway could add support
for this schema as it opens up the ability to control/interrogate
functions not only via *, but also jabber. In fact, I should have
mentioned that any function/command (excepting the "#" commands
that are
peculiar to xAP Jabber) that is valid via xAP Jabber can be used in the
IVR menus. If this isn't an option that is likely to happen, then if
there is a schema that is roughly comparable, then let me know and I'll
see about adding it. In the meantime, I would suggest giving Four (and
possibly xAP Jabber) a try--if nothing else, but to ensure that your
initial IVR capability is working.
