I use this method for my carpc phone charging socket, and it works
well
on the HTC Desire. Just took your average panel mount USB socket with
flying lead to motherboard connector, spliced the data lines together,
stuck some lucas bullet connectors on, and plugged it into the +5v
coming from the ATX PSU.
