Paul, Neil,

I've got some behind my monitor here and the units with a connector on each
end are 296mm  with the cable (flat 4 core) bent back they come in at just
under 300mm.  If you want to bend the cable in another plane you probably
need to allow 10mm either end for the cable "twist".
