RHC. No, with all due respectg, you've missed the point. Regardless of
the quality of the equipment, without monitoring of some sort, it's
nothing more than a cheap or expensive noisemaker ! With professional
monitoring available from $8.95 a month up, there is no excuse for
crippling any system. That price is little more than the rental price
of a couple of movies....

A "system" is defined as a complement of parts comprising a whole.
Noise is one part; response is another. They are both necessary to
have a system that will do what it is designed to do. Deter the
criminal; limit the amount of time he is in the home; and ensure the
home is sealed up properly.

Anything less and they are fooling themselves.....
