With all due respect, you kinda completely missed the whole fucking
point.  Either that or you are responding to an entirely different
post.

I'm talking about a handful of five-dollar devices (or a cheapass,
unmonitored x10 system from eBay) that, as I said in the OP, make a
REALLY FUCKING LOUD NOISE and possibly scare away a wannabe intruder.

I'm talking about people living paycheck-to-paycheck, not eccentric
misers who want to protect an entire estate on the cheap.

And you're talking about installing a panel and code enforcement.

What's your gig?  Selling comprehensive security packages to rich
people living in gated retirement communities?
