I am telling you...a 1 inch piece of PVC pipe will solve many of your
problems.

Just mount the PVC pipe exactly where you want the wire to come out. leave a
service loop in the pipe. You can leave a little wire out, or let the
drywall guys bury it. With a tone generator you can pinpoint exactly where
to drill a 1/4" hole...DONE! I never had that problem ever again. It's been
25 years later...This works great for motions, glassbreaks, sirens, smokes,
or anything else that doesn't require a junction box per NFPA or local
building code.
