Which can be the problematic ones

Which the customer, in this case, would or should have the number to call
for service anyway. How many of these third party monitoring centers are
monitoring accounts where the installing company is gone? The monitoring
bill didn't get paid so the central took over the account and is billing
directly, but who are they using for service? These guys that put on 10-20
accounts and then go belly up are quite common, leaving the customer
monitored by some clandestine CS with no service provider. We get calls all
of the time because their central told them it was up to them to find
service, so they open the yellow pages. Problem for the customer is that
most companies will not service an account if it is not theirs or the price
for service is through the roof. A call just came in yesterday that one of
the bigs, because the lady did not have their service agreement, wanted $200
to reset her smoke detector and she was their monitored customer. Amazing.
When her agreement is up, I'll bet she will remember her experience with
that company.
