With the wood casements the screens mount on the inside. You could have the
screens made with the lead exiting the face of the frame, which would make
it unnecessary to drill the window frame at all. Not as clean, but if the
lead goes up no one will ever see it. This also makes it much easier for the
homeowner/window washer to R and R the screens.
