Should you wish you could always insert the pink cable in an outer jacket
a=
nyway. Just be careful to seal it at the ends such that it doesn't
retain=
water. I even think there are some partially flexible metallised sheaths=
that could held reduce magnetic interference if earthed. Don't ask me to =
suggest one though. If the mains cable is an armoured one then its
surr=
ounded by a metal earthed braid anyway which will help with both
interferen=
ce and isolation.=20

Depending on ease of access you might consider running a spare pink cable
t=
oo. I have a similar situation where I didn't do this and later wanted to
=
add C-Bus to the 100 Mbit/s Ethernet bearing CAT5e. In frustration and
clu=
tching my rabbits foot I tried utilising the spare conductors within the
C=
AT5e cable for C-Bus but it didn't work.

The cat5 cable(s) will be for regular data so I can get Sonos in the shed,

The appeal of the clipsal cable was for it's sheath rating and it's good

It should be fine running the C-Bus pink cable close to live mains cables.

The reason why it is not normally recommended is that an active power
cable=
induces a current (as interference) on nearby cables but the CAT5e arrange=
ment should minimise that. Also, the pink C-Bus cable sheath is mains
rated=
so should be fine having it close to power cables.
