Cat5E for data (gigabit) might be a different matter though over 10m
next to power (not that you asked for that!) - I'd imagine the data on
C-Bus is going to be pretty low bandwidth?

It should be fine running the C-Bus pink cable close to live mains cables.

The reason why it is not normally recommended is that an active power cable
induces a current (as interference) on nearby cables but the CAT5e
arrangement should minimise that. Also, the pink C-Bus cable sheath is
mains rated so should be fine having it close to power cables.
