Yes that's my video and write up Wayne :)

Glad it's given a bit of inspiration. The log fire video as Mark says, is
a=
Sky on demand video. It's not great but OK. Was nice for Christmas morning=
opening presents :) Was a bit of a last minute addition to make the room m=
ore Christmassy! The other videos they had were truly shockingly bad
though=
! Very poor animation. I could have animated something (my day job) and
sol=
d it to Sky!

As Phil and others say, the hue lamps come on full brightness if manually
p=
ower cycled. What you really want is the new dimmer kit which has a remote
=
on/off/dimmer switch. This is really the missing part of the hue system
and=
can replace a light switch whilst still retaining HA control from other de=
vices (as the lamp is then permanently powered to react to on/off/dim
comma=
nds). What's even nicer with the Philips dimmer is if you assign it to a
fu=
ll scene, it can turn that whole scene on/off and also DIM that scene too.
=
Really nice :) the dimmer switch is actually a small remote that attaches
t=
o the wall plate via magnets so can be used as a remote or left on the
wall=
. The wall plate has screw fix holes or can be mounted via the attached
sti=
cky pads. Very neat solution, nicely made, looks good and I think great
val=
ue at ?30 for controller and a single hue white bulb. Amazon seem to be
out=
of stock again (hue stock levels seem to be very poor generally) but is in=
stock from DmLights (Belgium IIRC). Used them a lot - good delivery and st=
ock levels and great pricing on some hue kit - although anything with
power=
plugs are EU type of course so need a 2 pin adapter.

Paul.
