Missed that it was an IP box!
So how about some more bodging of cables and sending the power down the
unused pairs on the cat5.
Or how is the avocent box being powered? read the label on the PSU and if
>8V and shows '=' alongside the value then tap
power off this lead for the 3145s (+wire to DTR -wire to GND).
