[OT] Mac help needed

  • Subject: [OT] Mac help needed

Hi All,

Calling on the collective wisdom of the MAC users out there.

Trying to connect to a shared drive on a Windows machine and getting an
error

The error is -5023 which is AFP User not authorized

Mac is a Powerbook G4 running OSX10.28

Windows machines can connect to the share with no problems.

The MAC can successfully connect to a Windows XP Pro machine but fails with
that error when trying to connect to the intended machine running SBS2003.
It also fails with the same error trying to connect to a share on my Vista
laptop.

Im sure someone out there must have successfully connected a MAC to an
SBS2003/Vista share.

We are connecting as SMB://<machinename>/<sharename> and
specifying the
domain/workgroup and the user as <servername>/<username> but it
just doesn't
work :-(

Thanks

Mac Challenged Keith
