I do remember quite a bit of discussion about DSL modems and routers not
that long ago (a month?).  Might be worth a search of the archives.
Your question is slightly different - sounds like you are saying your
adsl modem is simply a bridge with only one real world IP address, but
the background in the archives still might help.
