iPAQ Gets Hardware IR Boost!
14 February 2002
Submitted By: Mark McCall

"You love using your Pocket PC for remote control. Now, extend the
range! The new, patent-pending UltraMote Extender card fits into the
iPAQ's single CF slot expansion sleeve. Used with UltraMote universal
remote software, the card helps extend the range between you and your
equipment, up to 50 or more feet in some cases. The UltraMote Extender
casts a beam twice the width of the iPAQ's built-in infrared capability,
so you have a broader control field at any distance. You don't have to
point your iPAQ directly at the component. There's no set-up to use the
card. Insert it and select "external" in your UltraMote software
options. When you are using other applications on your iPAQ, you can
easily remove the card."
