Dimming might be a problem with Homevision Graham, but given that the
voltage across the transformer should vary with the dimming, using an ADC
and a PIC with some minor smarts,
you should be able to get a digital value without *too* much hassle..

Surely this might be a problem with dimming? Also, if it did work
then why would there be a need for an additional wire between the
light and the LD11, uf it is to be connected in parallel then
couldn't that be done at the consumer unit connecting directly to the
LD11 terminals. But I do think you might be on to something here, we
need input from an electronics wizard, but there must be some way of
detecting what is being sent out from the LD11 and getting that
information into the controller.
