James - I like this idea - and I think the pricing will end up just about right - someone with some mechanical skills may even be able to come up with a neat wall mounting solution.

A while back I worked on something similar that used little wireless modules instead of SitePlayers to create a two way link enabling me to use the Pilots as remote scorers for something else I dabble in (Bridge). However then the cost was too high for the market so I ended up using alarm keypads with a 2x20 display which got me to about £50 for a wireless linked device. http://www.ukusa.demon.co.uk/butler/butler.html. This really isn't anywhere near as attractive as the Pilot solution though. I also at one time used the Psion Organisers as the radio transceiver could be sandwiched in one of the slots.

But the good news - I bought a full copy of NS Basic at the time so I can compile your code if you want. The only snag is I moved and I have absolutely no idea where it is and well over a hundred boxes of my 'junk' still to go - I think I could probably approach the company again for an upgrade though - as I will be on their registered user base.

    Cheers Kevin

a small help!
Does anyone have a full version of NS basic who could compile a program
for me, as I am only using the demo one at the moment as this is still a
proof of concept.
