RE: Now Guided development?
>This funded development idea is something I've been saying to people
too.
Jason,
I see what you're saying and agree with it, though this is not what I
meant
here - I meant that I need a little project done, Nikola has a
requirement,
various others need something a little different/completely new.
If they are good for other ppl then great, but not everything has to
start
as a big project aimed at loads of ppl.
Also, funding matters not a jot if you haven't got the time - eg, I'm
sure
ppl would be willing to pay Keith up front for Switcher development, but
he
will _still_ be at work 12 hours a day, still have a wife and kid to
see,
still have a life to lead - the money won't change that.
The only way it would is to have enough to quit your job and do it full
time, but that could be very risky, could eaisly go titsup.com (just
because
maybe 600 ppl here want KAT5 doesn't guarantee a market elsewhere and
doesn't mean you will earn enough to live off till retirement) and might
not
be your cup of tea anyway. Some ppl are just not built to run
'real'
companies - my Bro in law is, I am not (Contracting doesn't count unless
you
are with the Inland Revenue in which case this is a bona fide business
here!!).
