Hi Tony,
Something that wondered off would not
be
stopped. True.
The what is and is not off topic I
thought
might cause friction.. People arguing other what
is an
isn’t
I would suggest a prewritten standard
email that could be posted in reply… by anyone who is deemed fit to
moderate.. (Are multiple moderators not
possible?).
That way it’s a moderators
decision, and others could just suggest maybe by changing the thread title
to
include OT MOD? Or something that it needs to be
moved?
I’m not clear on whats
possible with the lists. Mark, I’m not trying to double your workload
honest!
If those who currently reply to
various OT
posts don’t subscribe to the new list then the new list will die, but
at
least the main list will be free of the noise that most seem to dislike.

Jason,
I don't think that would work really, in the
same
way that putting 'OT'
doesn't always work.
Different ppl have different ideas on what
is/is
not OT and topics can start
on or off topic and wander off in completely
the
other direction, so you'd
have to decide at what point you 'cut off'
from
one group and shift it to
the other....
Finally, those with all the experience would
probably never subscribe to an
OT group so you wouldn't get the benefit of
the
experience anyway....
