Re: LukWerks video monitors

Thanks Dimbo, I'm planning a similar setup. One of the things I really
like is being able to check up on things when I'm at work. I have looked at
some of the Google hits for LukWerks but I probably need to spend more time
on that. I am just really surprised no one has mentioned them more in this
group.

I'm not quite done planning yet, but I think it is going to take 6 cameras
to adequately cover the outside of our house too. Some will be on the
inside of windows looking out and some will have to be mounted outside I
think. I'm adding some motion triggered outside lights too, so hopefully
illumination won't be a problem at night. I plan to mount the outside
cameras under the eaves of the house near the motion lights. I figure that
way I can just have the electricians install an outlet near where they mount
the motion lights. Of course I'll have to make sure the lights don't shine
right into the cameras, but I don't see that as a big problem.

I wonder if anyone has tried writing any of their own software for these
cameras, and if that is even likely to be possible? I was thinking it might
be useful to experiment a bit with the motion detection, but of course I'll
give the LukWerks software a good tryout first.

Best regards,
CSquared
