That is as always a personal decision. However, you might just consider
refusing to take as much work. In my current business I screen out a
lot of the headaches by telling people 3-4 months minimum for custom
work and its first paid first made. NO EXCEPTIONS! I've also told
people, "I don't think we are a good fit. Thank you for the
opportunity, but I just can't work the way you want. You might be able
to find somebody more desperate and they might be willing to suck you
off, kiss your ass, and make you happy."
