We got talking (what else could I do :-) I told her I was just getting out of the Navy and that I worked in communications. She said that she was going to Newark NJ to work on starting up a new broadcast station and that if I was interested in interviewing for a job she would recommend me. I took her phone number and her personal phone number too and thought I'd give it a try.

I forgot all about the girl I met on the plane or at least put it off and once I got a local job I forgot about it completely. A few years later, I made the connection that what she was talking about is what was the beginning of what is now the PBS networks when they started broadcasting out of Newark NJ. Who knows, maybe I could have gotten in on the ground floor. Not only with the girl but the job too >:->
