There may not be any real value or any technical advantage in having a
monitoring station in state, but there is a perceived value on the part of
some potential customers.

Many new customers ask where their alarm will be monitored and most seem to
react
favourably when you tell them the central station is local and they are
welcome to visit the
central station if they wish, not one of my customers has ever actually
visited the central station but many have initially expressed a desire to.
