RHC: One thing the customer has to do after changing the batteries, is
actually use the test button to set off the smoke detector. If they
are the type that are interconnected, setting off just one seems to
solve it (the one that you just changed the battery on). With some of
the models (especially the newer talking smokes), if you don't set
them off, they don't "see" the new battery voltage properly, and will
continue to complain / chirp....whatever..

If the smoke is in the vicinity of the keypad, it's a guarantee they
will complain it's the alarm making the noise...
