Well, you beat me to it but I was just about to come back at you with
the fact that the increases are being instituted by everyone that we
do buisness with .... so it's not just what we pay in increased fuel
prices. I haven't done a comparison yet to last year but I'd expect
that my costs are up at least 15% over last year and likely 20% over
the year before. Prices for parts alone go up at the minimum of 4 to
5% every year. Next year I'm sure it will be even more to include all
the fuel related increases the suppliers are getting now. Crikey, even
my water delivery guy is charging a $5.00 surcharge on water delivery.
And this is just the beginning of the overall reaction to the fuel
increases. Everyone thought it was going to go up for a while and come
back down, like it has done the last few times. This aint gonna happen
this time. Too many other factors like China are in the mix now. Price
of fuel is up and it's gonna stay up and it's never coming down again.
Time to increase your prices too. No surcharge. No temporary fee.
Raise your prices if you want to stay in business. Stay ahead of the
curve. Those that don't will be too far behind once they realize their
costs have eaten away at their profit.
There's nothing like finding out too late that there's too much month
left at the end of the money.
