TTBOMK, no.  There is "standard trade practice" however,
and that has often been used as a measure of whether a
given job was done correctly.  The problem here is that
the failure in question is probably not bad enough for a
court to set aside the contract.  Also, the company has
apparently made a reasonable offer to correct the problem
and to compensate the client.  I understand his concern
about them given the mistake they made but I doubt it's
enough to get out of the contract.
