The end of line resistor will work if it is placed across the two terminals
without *any* other wiring connected. Try this first.
Next add a magnetic contact. Disconnect one of the resistor wires from one
terminal of the panel. Connect one wire from the contact to the terminal on
the panel and the other wire to the resistor wire you just disconnected. Now
holding a magnet up to the contact should make the zone show ready.
So it goes like this....
TERMINAL------resistor---TERMINAL
then...
TERMINAL------contact------resistor---TERMINAL
then...
TERMINAL------contact------resistor---contact-----TERMINAL
