Re: Video Tours ?

If they're big enough to do it in house, they should be required to use
their own security dept to dispatch instead of using city resources after a
certain amt of false alarms. Yah,,,I know I used to do a big chain of
bargain stores...they'd lock the floor waxing people IN the store with the
alarm on (took us weeks to teach them how to arm it STAY mode) finally they
got the hang of it...but they still would lock the cleaning people in until
they're security guys would come back and let them out (actually a pretty
good idea - except if there was a fire).

| Most all are. The interesting thing about it is that it exempts them from
| licensing requirements and, as proven in studies, are some of the worst as
| far as false alarms. Instead of fixing the problems, they actually have an
| annual budget for false alarm fines. I quess they figure it is easier to
pay
| the fine than to implement a security program policy at each store with
the
| high turn over of people. According to our city alarm coordinator, one of
| the bigs, here locally, had over 100 alarms in 1 week. Another one
actually
| locked the overnight cleaning crew inside, figuring if they left early,
| central would get the alarm. Problem was they didn't bypass the interior
| protection, nor did they notify their central of their intent, so
| consequently the PD was getting called everytime they walked in front of
the
| motions. They really deserve to be exempt. YAH RIGHT!!! and the industry
is
| the one that gets the blackeye for this kind of stuff.
