Re: The MM & Jiminex show (was: Bass...)
Jim,
> you just don't seem to be able to grasp the situation. Therefore, since
you refuse to stop cross posting ... Your comment seems to prove the fact
that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. <
The reason I cross-post is so groups that carry one part of this thread will
carry all parts. At least all parts I contribute. If some groups get only
some of the messages, it presents an incomplete picture for lurkers.
Jim, I decided to take your suggestion at face value and investigate
further. All I know of Robert Bass is that he's one of the most helpful guys
around. I have never seen him steer people toward his company even though he
has plenty of opportunity. But on the off-chance that you are right, and
that I'm missing something important, I just downloaded all the messages in
comp.home.automation and read back to April 1, 2005. Here's what I found:
Robert Bass made 24 separate posts that ranged from moderately helpful (a
brief one-sentence answer) to well above the call with detailed explanations
and advice. In one post Robert even helped someone who was having trouble
getting support from another dealer.
In contrast, Group Moderator made 25 posts that offered nothing of value,
and most of them were unprovoked attacks against Robert including the one
that started this thread. In fairness, Group Moderator made one helpful post
in the Sound Activated Switch thread, but he added a sarcastic remark that
was inappropriate and unrelated.
So there you have it. From the perspective of an unbiased bystander, I see
nothing but helpful posts from Robert. He's often the first to post an
answer. But from Group Moderator I see nothing but intentional trouble
making save for one helpful if brief contribution.
Jim, if you - or anyone else here for that matter - still feel I'm missing
something important, I ask that you email me privately through my web site
ethanwiner dot com. I will be glad to listen to anything reasonable, but I
expect to see a real name and legitimate return email address so I know who
I'm talking to. Otherwise, I stand by my assessment that Robert Bass is
exactly the helpful person he appears, and all of his detractors are merely
looking to make trouble. Since GM has started so many new threads over the
past year with the sole purpose of attacking Robert, I have to assume he's a
jealous competitor. Why else would he make it his mission to attack Robert?
