If you're trying to access a US based system from a European based
telephone, there might be a subtle difference in tone for the numeral "3".
About six years ago, a client of mine was in London (England) and tried to
access his Ademco panel over a friend's cell phone. He couldn't do it and
Admeco Tech Support at the time put it down to incompatible tone
frequencies. The way to help your client would be to purchase the
international version of the 5280 and piggy-back both together. Give him a
switch (double pole/single throw) and allow him to select which 5280 is
active by switching to either "US" or "European" version.
