Typically mag locks are installed at the top jamb side of the door.  This
may often provide for the maximum holding force as somebody hitting an
inward traveling dooror pulling on an outward traveling door must first take
up the flex of the door before being able to engage the full force of the
mag lock.

The negative of this location for an outward opening door is that the door
may flex enough to allow the insertion of a prybar to allow more efficient
application of force.

In all circumstances where the mag lock is installed on area occupied by
personnel it must have a release device such as a mechanical panic bar with
switch or touch sense bar that will allow free egress from the building in
case of fire.
