Re: Why do I have to wait for a group moderator?

The xAP groups are hosted on Yahoo Groups. We are not easily in
control
of the signups to the lists and so Spam can be a big problem . If you
subscribe to other unmoderated Yahoo lists you will see that the
majority of posts now seem to be Spam and the list has become unusable.

Our solution is to automatically moderate new members . Yahoo provides
a facility that the first few posts by new members have to be approved
and then their membership falls through to being non moderated. Once
you have posted a few times this will happen automatically. Posts are
not being screened per say - it is avoiding the list being infiltrated
with Spam. Bear in mind also that sometimes Yahoo groups suffers
delays in postings that are beyond are control.

OTOH - it might also have allowed me to catch the double posting you
made to the xAP Auto group and avoided the crossposting ;-) However
there was 4 hours inbetween them and so they got through.
