That's working great - and the 'split over n messages' feature to get
a complete report on all available headlines adapts perfectly too. I
was getting 2 news.report messages each iteration before, now it's
expanded to 3 separate messages because of the new field.

One thought though. Whilst I can easily parse the date value:

date=Wed,  6 Apr 2005 20:01:03 -0700

How about sending it in the (standard?) xAP date/time format? e.g.:

{
:
DateTime=20050406130103
:
}

IIRC the date/time proposal from ages back included a FormattedDate
field for the pretty version and DateTime in a different format, its
length indicating if it included date+time, just a date or just a
time.
