Thinking out of the box on this issue, maybe the simpler solution
might be to monitor the waste flow, not the feed flow? Could be done with a
simple conductivity probe (pair of parallel wires epoxied within the PVC
waste pipe and fed to a simple timer. cheap. effective, easy to fit, no
flow restriction, unpressurised pipe, easily accessible. Just a thought to
cogitate upon.
