Thanks for the replies

I've found myself in a bit of a quandry(sp?) as i ripped an album in m4a
(itunes) and flac (eac) to compare both to the mp3 version

Both are noticably better than the mp3 BUT the m4a seemed better than the
flac. The m4a was more bright and had better speration in that i didn't
notice a quite duet of the main vocals in the flac only in the m4a. Once i
realised it was there i could here it in the flac but flac still seemed
slightly duller

I don't think this should be since they are both lossless. And as the m4a
is a short rip and flac a long rip (used secure mode) I'd of thought they
should both be the same or the flac better (though the disc was in 100% new
condition). Then again perhaps the m4a isn't a good a rip but just sounds
better to my ears

Really confused now!
