I have one - although I've never used XBMC so can't compare the two.

Its played every file I've thrown at it so far, and firmware updates=20
appear to be quite regular. It streams HD stuff over the LAN with no=20
problem, and has a built in bittorrent if you fit a local hard disc.

Its connected to my Onkyo 905 via HDMI which then outputs 1080p to my=20
LCD or Projector.

As others have commented - can't go far wrong for =A3100!
