Re: Scart Switching/KAT5's/S-Video

Hey Tim,

Thanks for the reply. I am guessing that there must be some sort of
problem inside the switcher. I have not tried connecting the S-video
directly to the KAT5's, but I have connected it directly to a TV and it
shows in colour. That's what led me to believe that the switcher was
faulty. The WMCE server has a S-Video output that is connected to the
switcher via a S-video cable to a scart adapter, which then plugs into
the switcher.

Another thing I tried was to plug the s-video output into a s-video to
phono converter, thus making the s-video signal into composite. I
thought this would then bypass the pins s-video uses on the switcher and
get around the problem. This did indeed make the picture colour, but
unlike when using a direct s-video connection, the screen was very
blurry ! So I have to have a clear black and white picture, or a blurry
colour one :D

The root of the problem seems to be the switcher. I think I'll need to
just buy a new one, but finding cheap ones with remotes is proving tricky
:\

Thanks
Marc
