Ian's just left here with his MediaBox thing in hand and it *DID* happily
play the HiDef .WMV files that I downloaded last night.

Worked nicely via the HDMI to DVI cable that I picked up from Maplin today
(even pulled up the correct resolution for my LCD of 1366 x 768) and
picture
quality seemed fine.

Only thing I didn't like was the UI which was the usual "browse the
network
as files and folders" fayre. It played DVDs off my server fine but if
you
were wanting - say - "Armageddon" then you would browse to the
network,
choose the server (in this case "Apu"), browse to the
"Movies" folder,
browse to the "Armageddon" folder and then play the
"VIDEO_TS.NFO" file ...
this does work of course but I'd rather it was possible for it to be
intelligent and decide that it's a DVD in a folder and just automatically
start playback. (Hell, I'd *RATHER* you didn't browse around the network
structure as such - I'd rather that was hidden.)

But looks a nice bit of kit...

Phil
