Correct, the brass bus bars were thrown away (as well as the power
tails)..=
just used loops of wire to connect the LD11's together.=20

Correct,  I made use of the earth bar to connect all the earth wires etc,
a=
nd neutral bar at the top of the unit was used to connect the incoming
powe=
r feed and the LD11's..

Neat and tidy...

Professional looking...

Safer.. since all the High Voltage wires are hidden inside the unit, while

still allowing access to the LD11 to select House/Unit Code and fuses etc.

What's the advantage of using a consumer unit over "a bit of DIN rail
in a plain enclosure"? because I don't think you can make use of the
bus bars that would normally run underneath the MCBs if you use X10
modules, can you?

You get the sets of common terminals that you have at the top of your
enclosures, and probably easier access to change fuses/housecodes etc,
but is there anything else?
