Ever thought of a career change ? ;-)

Nah seriously I believe in appropriate UI's but there is an easy
tendency to automate and display because you can and it gives you as a
techie a buzz. I suddenly realised this malady when I paid to have the
consumer units moved from teh cellar into a 'more' visible place with
perspex fronts so that I could see the lights on C-Bus and a couple of
people suggested I might move them back ! I think getting a system
that works much as it did before the automation , ie with the same ease
of use, interface and dependability is the key. Layering on top of that
the bells and whistles is what HA should do and there is that
additional need now to support richer data interaction (email,
graphics, security, AV etc). Getting approval from a non automation
enthused SO/SWMBO is the equivalent of a * * * * * consumer award I
believe (that's 5 stars btw).

PS As you're on the development side I didn't see Harmony on that list
of leading HA applications supported by xAP - another big ;-) 3 in
total - another realisation - I'm a sarcastic ****** (that's not 6
stars).
