RE: [OT] TomTom Go 910

Yes, I bought one a couple of weeks ago.

(PS: 1 year old GO500 still for sale if anyone's interested)

Used it first in Spain. - Gave us a right old laugh.. - as you know it
now has TTS voices so it can say place names / street names etc. First
thing to be aware of is that you have to choose a "computer
voice"
rather than one of the pre-recorded voices to enable this - i.e. the TTS
voice is used for *ALL* speech, not just the bits it's needed for. The
device warns you that a computer voice isn't as natural as a recorded
voice, however despite imagining the robotic sounding voice you might
expect, it's really not too bad.

Boy did it struggle to correctly pronounce Spanish place names though!

The windscreen mount is different, and I've found in use that mine tends
to "droop" over time, - you start off with the screen ad just the
perfect angle, but after a while you notice that it slowly points
further and further downwards. I'm hoping that it's just a loose screw
on mine rather than a design "feature" - I haven't had a chance
to look
into this yet, I will do so at the weekend.

Any other questions?
