It won't work with multiple OS types, but you may want to take a peek at
Altiris Software Virtualisation Suite.  It's free for personal use, and
allows you to sandbox all your apps.  I've seen it running Excel 2000 and
Excel 2002 simultaneously on the same machine.  Quite impressive.
