This is not a killer problem, but I had considered "loaning"
100Gb of my NAS
to a mate in return for a reciprocal 100Gb of his SC101 NAS - the plan was
then to create an offsite backup location and solve all my data storage
problems.

this? Could the SC101 in the future via a software upgrade? Any ideas how
I might be able to do it now?

Have you tried sharing the SC101 drives via a machine with the client
software installed, and then mapping to these shared drives?

That's how I use my SC101s, as it negates the need to install the client
software on more than one PC. I would imagine that would work via a VPN.

A.
