RE: Xbox - AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Bugger.

I know how frustrating this is - when I started trying to use XBMC, I
reached the "screw it" stage within about a month, and the box
sat there for
nearly six months doing nothing because it was so damn infuriating.

It's a shame it's a 1.6 box, as otherwise you could do the TSOP flash - and
that's something I could help with.

The fact that you can sometimes "kinda" see the boot up makes it
sound
intermittent - which points at the solderless adapter, and one look at that
fecker and I'm not surprised. What's the point of a "solderless"
adapter if
the darn thing has five floating contact points?? I know you have checked
them, but I *suspect* that you have two of the points crossed over, but
that's captain hunch coming into play.

With the Xbox open, and the adapter in place, did you get the Cromwell boot
up screen on this page? (or is that the problem?)

another thought - does your Xecuter have a valid bios on it?

Sorry if this isn't helpful - if it was a previous model, I'd happily TSOP
flash it for you, but on a 1.6 there's not much I can do K
