I agree, for these to be feasable they would need to be very cheap.
Even if
the graphics weren't great, even if they were just embedded web browsers,
then they would do the job nicely.

Like I said in a previous post I would like one to use as a central heating
controller, just because it would be pretty in the utility room when you
come in the back door, but it would need to be cheap.

For any other application you really want a wireless controller, that can
be
carried around the house. Far better.
