I had a problem like this with the same model (although not when it
was calibrating, this was under normal circumstances). I figured the
batteries were on the way out and replaced them. The problem remained,
so that was a waste of money!
Bascially it seemed that whilst the 2200 circuitry can handle a load
of up to 100% (2200W, iirc) on the scale, the batteries inside can't
sustain that 100% load for very long. Like you i had about 40% load,
and the run time was short- about 15-17 minutes.
Wait for an UPC experts opinion, but you can get a battery case to
daisy chain more batteries to the 2200, which will increase the run
time at higher loads. I ended up buying a second UPS with 2 battery
packs. the 2200 now does lighter duties, but is working fine.
